The
Five Day Summit Climb August 30 - 3 September led by
RMI Guide Jenny Konway decided to turn around today at 12,900' due to high winds and cloud cap forming over the summit. The teams returned to Camp Muir just before 8 AM. They will rest and repack and then descend to Paradise this afternoon.
The
Mt. Rainier Summit Climb, led by
RMI Guide Pete Van Deventer, turned at the top of the Nisqually Cleaver. The team encountered some gusty winds and were turned at 13,400 feet.
The Four Day Summit Climb Teams led by RMI Guides Brent Okita and Nick Scott reached the summit of Mt. Rainier early this morning. Brent reported clear skies, light winds and cool temperatures. They will spend some time on the summit celebrating before starting their descent to Camp Muir.

Training with RMI Guides Hannah Smith, Lucas Haaland, and Ross Lindell on the Paradise Glacier the
Expedition Skills Seminar - Paradise learned alpine climbing techniques, anchoring systems, avalanche forecasting, and crevasse rescue. They put the week's training to work as they successfully reached summit of Mt. Rainier via the Disappointment Cleaver route. The team has started their descent and will return to Paradise this afternoon.

The Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Dave Hahn reached the summit of Mt. Rainier early this morning. Dave reported beautiful weather and a challenging route. The team will enjoy the views from the summit before starting their descent.

The
Four Day Summit Climb August 27 - 30 were unable to reach the summit today due to high winds and deteriorating weather.
RMI Guides Mike King and Gloria Roe led their teams to the top of Disappointment Cleaver before making the decision to turn back as the winds were high and the cloud cap that had formed around the summit began to creep lower on the mountain. The teams returned to Camp Muir and will descend to Paradise this morning.
The
Four Day Summit Climb August 26 - 29 reached the summit of Mt. Rainier on a beautiful, clear day.
RMI Guides Steve Gately and Bryan Mazaika led their teams this morning, reaching the crater rim just before 7AM PT. The teams will enjoy the views from the crater before starting their descent. Once back at Camp Muir they will rest and repack and then continue down to Paradise. This afternoon their program will conclude with a ceremony at Rainier BaseCamp.

The
Four Day Summit Climb August 25 - 28 reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning.
RMI Guides Brent Okita and
Jenny Konway led the teams and were approaching the crater rim just before 7 AM PT. Brent reported a beautiful day on the mountain with clear skies and low winds. They will spend some time in the crater before starting their descent. Upon their return to Paradise they will transfer to Rainier BaseCamp and conclude their program with a short celebration.

The
Four Day Summit Climb teams for August 24 - 27 led by
RMI Guides Dave Hahn &
Andy Bond were unable to reach the summit today. Upon reaching the top of Disappointment Cleaver, high winds forced the teams to turn back to Camp Muir. The team is planning to descend from Camp Muir around 9:30 AM and we look forward to seeing them at Rainier BaseCamp this afternoon.
The
Five Day Summit Climb August 22 - 26 reached the summit of Mt. Rainier today, the final day of their program.
RMI Guide Gloria Roe led the team to the summit. As of 8:40 AM PT they were starting their descent from the crater rim. We look forward to seeing the team at Rainier BaseCamp this afternoon for their team celebration.
