Summit! With bluebird skies and lights winds, the summit climb teams reached the top of
Mt. Rainier. The teams, led by
Eric Frank and
Paul Rachele, began their descent from the Crater Rim just after 7AM.
We look forward to congratulating them here at Rainier Basecamp this afternoon.
The
Mt. Rainier Summit Climb teams, led by Christina Dale & Robby Young, reached the summit at 5:50 a.m. The guides reported calm winds and warm temperatures. After spending an hour on the summit and crossing the crater rim, the teams began their descent at 6:50 a.m.

The
Expedition Skills Seminar - Kautz team led by RMI Guide Kel Rossiter climbed to the summit of Mt. Rainier via the Kautz route this morning. The team has spent the week on the mountain training in various alpine climbing techniques. They will continue their training tomorrow before descending to Paradise in the late afternoon.
Congratulations to the Kautz team!
The
Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guides Casey Grom and Elias de Andres Martos climbed to 12,700' this morning, but were forced to turn due to icy and firm route conditions. The team has started their descent and are en route to Camp Muir.

The
Five Day Summit Climb June 17 - 21, 2017 led by
RMI Guides Andy Bond, Joe Hoch and Nick Scott made their summit attempt today. High winds and firm climbing conditions prevented the team from going above 13,800'. The group has spent the last two nights at Camp Muir, they will return to pack their gear and continue their descent to Paradise.
We look forward to seeing them at Rainier BaseCamp later today.
RMI Guide Ben Liken and the Four Day Summit Climb team June 17 - 21, 2017 made their summit attempt of Mt. Rainier this morning but were forced to turn around at 13,800' due to high winds and icy conditions. The team is making their way back to Camp Muir where they will take a short break and re-pack their gear before continuing their descent to Paradise. We look forward to seeing them at Rainier BaseCamp this afternoon.
The
Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons Team led by RMI Guide Robby Young were turned at 13,200' on their summit attempt of Mt. Rainier via the Emmons route due to high winds and deteriorating weather. The team will be spending the afternoon learning crevasse rescue, and plan to return to Ashford Basecamp tomorrow afternoon.

RMI Guides Brent Okita, Jenny Konway and Matt Rosenberg led the
Four Day Summit Climb of Mt. Rainier June 17 - 20, 2017. The team arrived at Camp Muir yesterday afternoon. They began their alpine start around midnight and climbed to 13,500' before deteriorating weather and poor visibility forced them to turn around. The team will return to Camp Muir and then continue to Paradise. We look forward to seeing them at Rainier BaseCamp later today.

RMI Guide Christina Dale led the
Five Day Summit Climb June 15-19 on Mt. Rainier. The team ascended to Camp Muir on Saturday and spent the following day training at Camp Muir. This morning they made their summit attempt but due to new snow over the last few days the conditions today did not allow their team to summit. They have safely returned to Camp Muir. They will repack their gear and continue their descent to Paradise later today.
The June 16 - 19 Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Paul Rachele was forced to turn around at 12,500' due to route conditions. Several days of poor weather and snow accumulation provided difficult climbing conditions for today's team. They have returned safely to Camp Muir and will continue their descent to Paradise this afternoon.
