Mt. Rainier: Summit Climb Teams Turn Due to High Winds

The Four Day Summit Climb June 29- 2 July turned around at 13,200' today due to high winds and poor weather conditions. RMI Guide Steve Gately and the team will return to Camp Muir to repack and then will continue to Paradise. We look forward to seeing them at Rainier BaseCamp later today.

Mt. Rainier: Five Day Summit Climb Reaches the Summit

This morning RMI Guide Chris Ebeling led his Five-Day Summit Climb team to the Mt. Rainier summit. They began their descent at 8:00 a.m. and will be staying at Camp Muir for an additional night before descending tomorrow.

Mt. Rainier: Okita & Team Summit!

The Mt. Rainier Four Day Summit Climb team, led by Brent Okita, reached the summit in some windy conditions. The team spent some time on the summit and began their descent at 8:00 a.m. We look forward to congratulating them at Rainier Basecamp this afternoon.

Mt. Rainier: June 30th Summit!

The Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guides Casey Grom and Tyler Jones reached the Summit of Mt. Rainier early this morning. Casey reported increasing winds, and a cap forming as they climbed. The teams are on their descent and will be celebrating back at Rainier Basecamp early this afternoon. Congratulations to Today's Team!

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Summit Climb Teams on the Summit!

The Four Day Summit Climb Teams June 26 - 29 reached the summit of Mt. Rainier today led by RMI Guides Peter Whittaker and Chase Nelson. The groups reached the summit around 7 am and spent some time on top enjoying the views. Peter reported clear skies with winds 25 mph and cold temperatures. The teams will return to Camp Muir for a quick break before continuing to Paradise. We look forward to seeing them at Rainier BaseCamp this afternoon. Congratulations to today's Summit Climbers!

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Summit Climb Teams with ALA Team Members Reach the Summit

RMI Guides Win Whittaker and Andy Bond led their ALA Climbing Teams to the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. Win reported cold and windy conditions which means the teams won't stay on the summit for long. They will be returning to Camp Muir for a quick stop before continuing their descent to Camp Muir. Congratulations to today's ALA Climbers!

Mt. Rainier: Van Deventer, Gorum & Teams Reach the Summit

This morning the Mt. Rainier Five Day Summit Climb teams, led by Pete Van Deventer and JM Gorum, reached the summit. They reported 10 mph winds and a thin cap, but otherwise a nice day. They are currently descending back to Camp Muir and will return to Ashford Base Camp this afternoon.

Mt. Rainier: Kautz Seminar Summit!

The Kautz Seminar, led by Steve Gately, was on top of Mt. Rainier at 9:45 a.m. The team is working their way back to their camp where they will stay another night and descend from the mountain tomorrow. Congratulations to our Seminar team!

Mt. Rainier: Five Day Climb reaches the top!

Our Five Day Climb radioed in this morning to let us know they were standing on top of the highest point in Washington State! They reported bright and clear conditions. The team took advantage of the extra day built into our Five Day Program for an early summit in better weather. They will spend one more night at Camp Muir and will make their descent back to the land of fresh food and hot showers tomorrow. Congratulations climbers!

Mt. Rainier: Okita, Grom, & Team Stand Victorious on Columbia Crest!

The Four Day Summit Climb led by Brent Okita and Casey Grom were standing on the true summit of Mt. Rainer, Columbia Crest, at 7:00 AM PT this morning. At the time of the call they reported winds at about 30 MPH and were beginning the journey back across the crater of Mt. Rainier for the descent. We are looking forward to seeing them back on our Ashford Basecamp sometime around 3:00 - 5:00 PM PT. Congratulations climbers!
