The Four Day Summit Climbs August 11 - 14, 2012 reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. The teams reported a beautiful day with 25-30 mph winds and clear skies. RMI Guides Brent Okita, Tim Hardin and Andres Marin started down from the crater rim with their teams around 7:30 a.m. They will return to Camp Muir and then continue their descent to Paradise later this afternoon.
The Expedition Skills Seminar - Paradise crew moved to 9,000' on Monday and set up camp where they will remain until Wednesday morning. They watched a beautiful sunset last night. Today the team practiced fixed line travel on a 60 degree slope and are currently hanging out in crevasses.

Casey Grom and Gabriel Barral led their Mt. Rainier summit climb teams to the summit this morning. The guides reported light winds and mostly clear skies. Both teams began their descent from the crater rim at 8:00 a.m.
Mike Walter left this morning for the Five-Day Emmons Climb. Mike and his team will spend four days on the mountain as they summit from the Schurman/Emmons Route.
The Expedition Skills Seminar - Paradise began their climb yesterday. The team had a great day yesterday adjusting to the heavy loads of multi-day packs. They arrived at Camp One in great shape and did a general mountaineering school before dinner. We will be moving to Camp Two at 9,000 feet today. All is well on the Paradise Glacier.
Our Four Day Summit Climbs led by RMI Guides JJ Justman and Pete Van Deventer called from the “tippy tippy top of Columbia Crest” this morning. Pete reported his team reached the summit of Mt. Rainier at 6:45 and the teams began their descent just before 8:00am. Pete reported the conditions as: light wind, sunny, clear skies, super nice, and relatively warm.

Our Four Day Summit Climb Teams led by Billy Nugent and Solveig Waterfall reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. It was a beautiful morning on the summit and the teams were able to spend some time enjoying the views. They have started their descent back to Camp Muir and will be back at Ashford Basecamp this afternoon.

The Four Day Summit Climb August 7 - 10, 2012 led by RMI Guides Brent Okita and Andres Marin radioed from the Columbia Crest at 7:02 a.m. The teams were enjoying clear skies, cool temperatures and a very light breeze on the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. They began their descent from the crater rim just before 8 am. The teams will return to Camp Muir for a bit before continuing to Paradise this afternoon. We look forward to seeing them at Rainier BaseCamp later today.

RMI Guides Peter Whittaker and Dave Hahn led their teams to the Mt. Rainier summit this morning. Both teams had left the summit by 8:30 a.m. and reported light winds and a very pleasant day on the mountain.
Jake Beren is currently leading the Expedition Skills Seminar - Kautz on their summit bid. He checked in at 8:15 a.m. from the Wapowety Cleaver on the Kautz Route and will radio us when he reaches the summit.
It was great to climb with all of you, even the silly bit..
Way to go Marshall and VJ. Awesome job Brad, Andy and Matt. Really fun to climb with you Franz and Anna…makes me want to bring my own daughter seeing you guys have such fun together.

Our Four and Five Day Summit Climb Teams reached the summit of Mt. Rainier early this morning. RMI Guides Pete Van Deventer and Win Whittaker reported clear skies above 7000' and winds at about 40mph. They have started their descent and are now en route back to Camp Muir.

Summit! The Mt. Rainier Summit Climb was on top this morning in clear skies and light winds. RMI Guide Zeb Blais reported the team began their descent from the crater rim at 7:40 a.m.
RMI Guide JJ Justman and his Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons also reached the summit this morning. The team is still enjoying their time on the summit before they descend back to Camp Schurman for the night. JJ sent a video last night and can be viewed below.

RMI Guide Billy Nugent led the Four Day Summit Climb August 3 - 6 to the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. The teams reached the summit crater around 7:20 a.m. and reported light winds and good conditions. The Five Day Summit Climb August 2 - 6 led by Gabriel Barral was also on top. Both teams began their descent just after 8 a.m.
The Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons will be moving to their high camp (Camp Schurman 9,440') today. They will continue their training this afternoon and ready for their summit attempt tomorrow morning.

The Mt. Rainier Summit Climb led by Mike Haugen reached the summit in hot weather and no wind. The team departed the crater rim at 8 a.m. Once the team is at Camp Muir, they will regroup and continue their descent to Paradise.
