Mt. Rainier: July 1st Update

RMI teams, led by Pete Van Deventer and Chase Nelson, reached the Mt. Rainier summit at 5:45 a.m.  The weather is nice and at 7:05 a.m. the teams were at High Break on their descent.

Congratulations to today’s summit climbers!

Many thanks to Pete, Peter and Jordan for guiding us to the summit.  It was was a great reward for our journey that began in January with “small” hikes!

Mt. Rainier: Okita, Dale & Teams Summit with Perfect Weather

RMI Guide Brent Okita called from the Mt. Rainier crater rim with the news, “We are on the summit on a Bluebird Day!”  Clear skies, no wind, and views for miles- can’t beat a summit like that.  The teams spent an hour on top before starting their descent at 7:00 a.m.

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Summit Climb Teams Reach the Summit!

RMI Guides Win Whittaker and Paul Rachele lead their teams of ALA Climbers to the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning.  Win reported light winds, mild temperatures and an overall beautiful day.  The teams began their descent from the crater rim shortly before 7 am.  They will return to Camp Muir and then continue to Paradise.

We look forward to celebrating with them at Rainier BaseCamp later today.

Mt. Rainier: Emmons Seminar Reaches the Summit!

The Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons team, led by Zeb Blais, radioed from Columbia Crest on the summit of Mt. Rainier.  They are starting their descent and will stay at Camp Schurman tonight.  Tomorrow morning the team will pack up and head back to the White River Campground.  We look forward to congratulating them back at Rainier Basecamp tomorrow afternoon.

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Summit Climbs On Summit!

The Four Day Summit Climb Teams for June 25 - 28, 2017 reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning just after 7 am.  RMI Guides Kel Rossiter and Robby Young reported winds higher than expected but clear skies and an excellent route.  The teams spent almost an hour enjoying the views from the summit crater.  They will return to Camp Muir for a short break and then continue to Paradise.

Mt. Rainier: Five Day Summit Climb Team on Top!

Our Five Day Summit Climb team led by RMI Guide Andy Bond reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning.  They enjoyed calm winds and clear skies during their climb.  The team will descend to Camp Muir, rest and pack their bags, before continuing their descent to Paradise.  Once at BaseCamp they will gather for a presentation of certificates before concluding their program.

Congratulations to today’s Five Day Summit Climb team!

The Four Day Summit Climb June 23 - 26, 2017 reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning with cold temperatures and slight winds.  RMI Guide Tyler Jones and team were on their descent by 7:15 am and returning to Camp Muir. The team will take a short break to eat and re-pack before continuing their descent to Paradise.

Summit! With bluebird skies and lights winds, the summit climb teams reached the top of Mt. Rainier.  The teams, led by Eric Frank and Paul Rachele, began their descent from the Crater Rim just after 7AM.
We look forward to congratulating them here at Rainier Basecamp this afternoon.

The Mt. Rainier Summit Climb teams, led by Christina Dale & Robby Young, reached the summit at 5:50 a.m.  The guides reported calm winds and warm temperatures.  After spending an hour on the summit and crossing the crater rim, the teams began their descent at 6:50 a.m.

Awesome & challenging experience — standing at the summit was pretty amazing.  RMI is extremely organized, experienced, & disciplined.  Jenny & Robby were awesome guides — and I’d recommend them to anyone who’s thinking about doing Rainier!
