The Four Day Climb June 22–25 reached the summit of Mt. Rainier today under the leadership of RMI Guide Dominic Cifelli. The team of climbers from Black Diamond arrived at the crater rim around 6:30 a.m. and enjoyed time at the summit before beginning their descent.

The climbers are on their descent and will take a short break at Camp Muir before continuing down to Paradise later today.

Congratulations to all of today's climbers on a successful summit of Mt. Rainier!

The team stood on top of Shuksan via the Fisher Chimneys route August 13th! We enjoyed great route conditions, wonderful weather for a summit push, and great company!

The Four Day climb led by RMI guides Joe Hoch and Mac Nolde made it to the summit of Mt Rainier this morning. They reported nice weather and a busy route. They were leaving the crater starting their descent back to Camp Muir around 7am. They will return to Ashford this afternoon. 

Great work up there! 

The All Women's Four Day Climb led by RMI Guide Jess Wedel Reached the Summit at 5:15 am this Morning. The team reported beautiful views and great weather. They are on the descent and will be back at Camp Muir Shortly.

Tuesday, June 2, 2026 - 10:27 pm PT

The team met up today in Anchorage in glorious spring weather. We made the drive to Talkeetna with views of Denali, Foraker, and Hunter lurking in the foreground. Upon arrival we quickly dropped our gear off at the K2 hangar and met up for a nice meal and some desserts, get the calories in while we can! The team walked down to the Talkeetna river to watch the fast-moving waters while staring up with clear skies at the immense Alaska range. Early to bed tonight to prep for a long day of packing and organizing before waiting our turn to fly onto the glacier and begin our climb. Stay tuned.

Back once more for your final Glacier Hunter dipatch. After an incredible day of Hunting with great succes, we had returned to high camp just in time. With rest and relaxation on the to do list, the weather decided different. Instead of a swim in the alpine lake with sasquatch, a hail storm ensued. It was light, but the naps that followed were hard. Enjoying one last dinner we turned in early for the long journey out today. Awoken amongst the final night's stars, we wished upon a shooting one that sasquatch was doing well. An early morning start apparently meant all the marmots came out to play. "Our hunt is over, you're too late for tuna time," we said, but they didn't seem to care and kept asking for more. Enticed by blueberries we were, but the trailhead brought so many more gifts. Back in Darrington, we reminisce. Come back next year when we do it again. The hunt may be successful, but it never truly ends.

Welcome back once again! Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, people of all ages, the Hunt ended due to technical difficulties...we're kidding. It is with great congratulations that we award this team with the official summit of Glacier Peak. The hunt was successful, the views were beautiful, and the rope legs were real. Sasquatch, however, is yet to be found. Thank you one and all for tuning in to our program, Alas!! We are not done yet. Tomorrow we venture towards home, where the grass isn't greener but the toilets have seats. Until then our friends.

100% Summit Success. Ben & Team just called from the summit of Glacier peak with the entire team on top!

Thank you for that brief, day long commercial break, we are back on Glacier Hunters and boy howdy do we have a story for you. Last night, the wind howled loudly over and through our tents, covering us in a film of fine silt but it didn't ruin our (questionably) healthy game of euchre. We rose early in the clouds wondering if sasquatch was preparing to pounce. No dinner bells on us, so we think we're safe. We then climbed through the mist of water vapor mixed with smoke to our high camp. We called out to the marmots along the way, enticing them with tuna time, but had no success. They must have been sleeping in.

Suddenly, there was a break in the clouds. "Glacier peak, is that you?" The broken mist made it hard to tell. To prep for our continued hunt, we waddled out to school like a bunch of penguins and played on the dry shores of the white chuck glacier. Refreshed by some of the high-quality H20 it had to offer, we returned to camp.

"There it is!" We're sure of it. A silhouette of Glacier Peak hangs in the distance. Tonight we rest. This is it. Tomorrow we will climb. Will our nerves keep us in check? Do we have the courage to complete the hunt? Does this volcano have what it takes to give us a shot? Sure does. Don't go anywhere because we'll be right back after another break with the results of this journey.

Glacier (Demon K-pop) Hunters

Hello one and all and welcome to another episode of Glacier Hunters (copyright infringement expected).

This week, we journey once again in search for the infamous, desolate, and awe-inspiring volcano known as Glacier Peak. "Did I pack enough food? Where's your extra pair of underwear? Why is there only one blue bag in my blue bag? Is this where sasquatch lives?"

These are the questions we've been asking ourselves from the start. Last night, 9 of us met as total strangers (mostly), 3 of them rummaged through everyone else's stuff like it was Christmas morning (gear check), and then we all met this morning at a remote location (trailhead). As the team made their way to camp 1 of the trip, it was beautiful, and then it was hot. It was easy and then was all uphill. It was conversational, and then it was quiet (not really).

Will this group become friends? Will they find sasquatch or the missing pair of underwear? Will the hunt for Glacier Peak end in success?

As we sit at camp eating freeze dried macaroni, rice, and other unknown substances, we hope you'll stay tuned to find out. Anything could happen.

Today turned out to be a sunny albeit cold and beautiful rest day at 14k Camp. We spent the day crossing our Ts and dotting our Is as we packed and prepared for our move up to 17,000' Camp the following day. With some good weather on the horizon the team is ready to make our summit bid, wish us luck!

Tuesday, June 23, 2026 - 10:00 pm PT

The expedition continues! The past few days have been overwhelmingly successful. On the 21st we had a short day consisting of picking up our cache at 9,800 and bringing it up to 11,000' Camp. The next day, we brought a cache up to 14 Camp and met up with Ben’s team. Today, we woke up early and outran (or out-shuffled) the worst of the bad upcoming weather to 14 Camp, and are resting victoriously! 

With luck, we’ll be able to get a cache up high after weathering the storm.

Denali Dispatch June 17th 2026

Did you know your brain has to make around 250,000 decisions per week.

and did you know that… if bees were to be taken off this earth humans would only have 4 years left on earth to live, Einstein said that. and did you know a single tomato plant can yield around 

100 tomatoes per year…AND did you know…that if hypothetically…YOU were to stand at the bottom of a mountain OF THIS extensiveness, this height, this coldness, this atmosphere.…well…a ticking time bomb goes off… a build up of emotions…that have been sitting inside you for months.. just soaking in… mentally preparing for this place in the middle of Alaska on the cusp of the artic circle…the time bomb of emotions is different for all …For some it’s freedom, for some it’s fun, for some it’s a confidence boost, for some it’s to clear their head, for some its to test themselves, for some it’s to prove something, for some it’s just a break … A break from society, the world, the noise. And hypothetically when you start to put yourself in these environments…these untraditional, uncomfortable environments.. it’s beats the therapist 10/10 times, it lowers your cholesterol, its heightens your senses, it makes you feel alive and OVER ALL in the end ….it adds happiness to your life.  But also… this place is cold af, we’re carrying a ton of gear, shoulders are throbbing, everyone’s aching somewhere, it’s 24/7 sunlight … which is trippy, and honestly… a quick hot shower would be kinda nice.  So I guess what I’m saying it’s kind of a double edged sword… it’s hard… but it works. It works for whatever you need it for. the climb is medicine in a way… not the pharmacy drugs … I’m talking the good stuff. It’s the best kush you ever smoked... Figuratively  it’s the ” sour diesel mountain kush" (Might take that out) It gets you high…i mean we’re already 14k ft…I’ll speak on all of our behalfs, at this very moment on June 17th 7:15 PM Vibes are high, We just got to 14 camp like a bunch of dogs that just ate a big breakfast. carbed up. 5 hours 45 min… of pain cave. but The Team cooked. Ruff ruff it’s about to get real though…weather girl goes “high of 30 ….. below” who says that? For real… have you ever heard your local weather person say “high of 30… below” NO…it’s barbaric…it doesn’t even make sense… what person in there right mind would...anyways… vibes are high. If you’re a family member reading this.. just know you got one hell of a person in your family…if they chose to come out here and attempt this thing. they got a different switch in their brain, a switch you can’t buy for any amount of money. it’s a God given switch.  It’s the type of person you wanna be around. Absolutely blessed to be able to spend this climb with some real characters. Everyone has a story all you gotta do is ask.

The Ecuador team made it to the Illinizas Hut today after braving the rain for 2.5 hours. 

A highlight of the day was looking back down on the beautiful pastoral valley from our position high on the peak.

We are all a little soggy, but in good spirits and anticipate drying out before our attempt on Illiniza Norte tomorrow.
