Aconcagua: Nugent & Team Carry to Camp Two

Hola! Billy here back at Camp 1 chilling (out) and filling (up on food) after a flawless carry to Camp 2. We moved well and had little trouble putting in our cache of the usual food, fuel, and cold weather/summit gear. We bumped into friends and acquaintances all along the way enjoying the better than decent weather. There were a few minutes of flurries and even a little thunder in the distance but nothing of consequence. As I write this we're basking in the sun, satisfied with the day's work. Oh, we also met our third guide who traversed the mountain from the other base camp (Plaza de Mulas) and descended with us back to camp. His name is Pato, which means "duck," and he's a pretty cool dude. Not much else to report other than some inclement weather in the forecast, hopefully it doesn't slow our roll too much... Until our next dispatch, RMI Guide Billy Nugent and team

Randy…sounds like things are going well so far. In fact with all your chilling and filling and basking in the sun it sounds like you are on a very leisurely vacation…makes me a little jealous…haha. I know better but I hope you are enjoying the challenge. Lucas wanted me to tell you his great news that he just passed his MIG certification for a vertical up weld. He is so excited!
I miss you and I’m hoping Mother Nature remains kind to you.
Love Lisa

Hola Roberto!!!

All is sounding so positive for all of you and your team!! I couldn’t be happier for you and hope the goodness continues.
Have you hiked in Craig’s magic boots yet ? Maybe you’re working them in a bit??? Are you sleeping well? and feeling strong? are you warm enough??? I know you are starting to hit the colder temps ...orange puffy time yet??
Life is fine here .... enjoying (and thankful for) my Spanish infusion. I’ve been going privately twice a week and I think it’s going to really help me! I leave a week from this Friday!!! I’m actually going to start packing in a few days ....crazy this trip is finally here. Getting sooooo excited!! Aren’t we so blessed to both be having our S.A. adventures ??!!
I’m in my studio now and trying to segue from design clients to a new painting ...always a difficult transition for me :/ The phone is turning off and the music volume is going up and I will see what I can create before my evening plans. Wish me luck…..
I wish you luck as well with your climb tomorrow to Camp 2 ....I think maybe you have a few more variables than I do so I send you double strength luck and love ....

Have a blast being in the ruggedly, beautiful elements of Aconcagua ....

Thinking of you….M.

Dr. H, the office is amazed at your progress.Your group is making the climb look like a piece of cake. MRO assistants send a big “hello”. May the weather hold and the summit be reached! Thin layer of ice here and of course lots of falls to be treated!! We all miss you, be safe!

Dear Dad (Rick Haggard),

I talked to Shannon and Nana last night. We all miss you, and we are glad to hear that you are doing all right. Hopefully good weather is in your future and you and the team can make it to the summit. The family and I cannot wait for you to return! Stay strong and be careful!

From,
