Denali Expedition: Haugen & Team Hanging at High Camp

Sunday, June 30, 2019 - 8:44 PM PT We woke up to a sunny and relatively calm high camp. When we stuck our heads out to see what it looked like above, it was apparent that Denali wasn't a happy mountain. As guides, it is sometimes nice when the mountain makes the decisions for us and doesn't lead us on thinking we might climb. We spent the day eating and resting up for when the mountain decides that it is our time. The forecast is trending for better winds up high, so right now we will do some high altitude camping. We are so glad to have such a strong team of climbers with great attitudes. Let's hope Denali appreciates it as well! RMI Guide Mike Haugen and Team Siete

Our 3 kids are “happy” to hear you are finally “roughing it”.  They were a bit jealous to hear of the bagels, cream cheese, smoked salmon, breakfast burritos, and the charcuterie and Gummi Bear party and were wondering what kind of trip Dad was actually on! That settled down once I reminded them of the CMCs. LOL!!

Sounds like a great group and wishing you all the very best!  Sending love from NM!!.

Go Team Haugen!
Here’s hoping you have great weather the next couple of days for a summit attempt. Much love from Texas!

Go get it today!  Today is your day! Congrats!

Winds are supposed to diminish tomorrow…of course diminish from 45 MPH could still be a bit breezy, but I am hoping you soon have a window to summit safely. Thinking of you and wishing you the best.

GO TYM!!  GO TEAM!!

Love Mom, and Zeppelin

One bright side to your high altitude camping is no mosquitoes. Unfortunately for me in the low country I am on their menu. Enjoy this experience. According to NOAA Denali climbing forecast good weather is coming. Greetings to the Pro’s and the rest of your team.
