RMI Guide Jake Beren called to check in from Mt. Shuksan. They are at high camp enjoying warm temperatures. With this team's later goals of Mt. McKinley, Jake is teaching them all the necessary skills that will help them attain this goal and will finish the week with a summit bid on Mt. Shuksan.
Have an awesome trip, Jake! Psyched for our climb next week!

Good news from the North Cascades! The RMI office received the following text from RMI Guide Tyler Reid who is leading a group on Mt. Shuksan’s Fisher Chimneys:
“On the summit! It turned into a beautiful day, we had the mountain to ourselves. It was a great climb. I will send a text from camp. TR”
Nice work Tyler, Tim and Kevin!
Our Mt. Shuksan team is on the summit! We are taking in the beautiful weather and views as we relax before the descent. Couldn't ask for a better day to be on a mountain top.
Great job team!

The team did well practicing mountaineering skills today in preparation for our Mt. Shuksan summit bid in the morning. The weather was perfect and we had a great time out on the glacier today. We'll check in from the summit tomorrow.

Hello from the Sulphide Glacier on Mount Shuksan!
The team and I are at camp, located at 6,000' on the Sulphide Glacier. We had a mix of rain, sun, mist and fog on our hike to camp today. It's currently overcast but no precipitation while we get ready to eat dinner. The hike took us 6 1/2 hours to get here and everyone is doing well.
Tomorrow's itinerary includes practicing some mountaineering skills to prepare for the upcoming summit bid.
