The Four Day Summit Climb teams led by RMI Guides Mike Walter and Tyler Reid reached the summit of Mt. Rainier today. The teams enjoyed some time on the summit on what Tyler Reid described as a "beautiful day". They began their descent from the crater rim just before 8 am and will return to Camp Muir for a short break and then continue down to Paradise this afternoon. Kilimanjaro: Waterfall & 100% of Team on the Summit!

Hey this is Seth calling from the summit of Kilimanjaro. We have every single last member of the team up at Uhuru Peak. That's 100% of us 11 plus 5 great African guides. It's a nice day, clear skies all night long. The rain we had before, the last two days, just disappeared. There is a cloud deck down below us. We just had the nicest summit day. Everybody is doing great and we're gonna head back down. We have a long drop, it's about 9,000 feet down to our last camp. And then we are on safari. We will check in when we get to our last camp. Ciao. RMI Guide Seth Watefall

Manaslu Expedition: RMI Guide Alex Barber Checks in from Jagat

Tonight I'm in the village of Jagat. The last 4 days were comprised of a challenging bus ride and 3 days of trekking. During the bus ride I learned why, although popular for it's price, a bus is sub-optimal for the road to Arughat -- the passengers are as much mules to help get it through the muck as paying customers. However, trekking in from Arughat has been beautiful; starting from rice fields, then through the rain forest, to now in more of a steep riverside canyon with heavy vegetation. The highlight of the trek has been midday swims in crystal clear waterfall feed pools. The low point has been the heat, humidity and incessant mosquitoes. The climate is quite stifling. Constantly wet with sweat -- day and night. Tomorrow I'm going for a bigger day to Namrung and hopefully it'll be my escape out of this Nepalese sweat locker. The occasional glimpse of snow capped peaks has me stoked for Manaslu! Though even after 3 days of trekking, the altitude at Jagat is still only 4500ft... At some point this trail has to start holding onto gains right? RMI Guide Alex Barber

Hi! This is Solveig checking in after a successful summit day on Mt. Shuksan. We left camp just before 5 AM this morning and enjoyed perfect weather all the way to the summit. The team climbed strong and we made it round trip in a little over eight hours, with a nice rest on the summit. Our plan is to relax in the sun here in camp and begin our descent early tomorrow morning. Thanks for following along! RMI Guide Solveig Waterfall

Kilimanjaro: Waterfall & Team Prepared for Summit Bid

Well, we have made it to Kilimanjaro High Camp and it has stopped raining. Those are two really good things. The upper mountain has a fresh dusting of snow and some clouds are still swirling around but all-in-all it's a pleasant day. We had lunch here in camp after a short day on the trail. Now everyone is resting and organizing gear. We are planning an early dinner and bed and then we'll be off to the summit! RMI Guide Seth Waterfall

Mt. Shuksan: Solveig Waterfall & Team Check in From High Camp

September 5th, 2014 - 4:10 pm PT Hi Everyone! This is Solveig checking in from our camp here on Mt. Shuksan. We arrived in camp yesterday evening and enjoyed the sunset over dinner and hot drinks before crawling into the tents for a well-deserved rest. It took us the majority of the day to climb the 3,700' to camp and everyone did great carrying big packs and working hard in the heat. We awoke this morning to warm temperatures and clear skies, and even clearer views of the surrounding Cascade Range. After we reached sufficient levels of nutrition and caffeination, we set off up the Sulphide Glacier to begin our day of technical training. Our morning was spent revisiting basic mountaineering techniques and by early afternoon, we transitioned to practicing moment skills on rock and and belayed climbing and rappelling. Back in camp our team is relaxing and rehydrating in preparation for our summit bid early tomorrow morning. Wish us luck and we'll check in again after we return to camp tomorrow! Mt. Kilimanjaro: A Wet Day on the Trail to Karanga Valley Camp

Hello from Karanga Valley on Mt. Kilimanjaro. It's been another wet day here on the mountain but the crew pulled off a fine performance on the trail. We actually awoke to sunny skies and after a nice breakfast we relaxed around camp. The plan was to let the majority of the other teams move up the steep Barranco wall before we set out. This worked out nicely and although clouds had moved in we ascended in relative privacy. At the top of the wall it began to mist and by the time we reached camp it was full on raining. The rain has continued through the afternoon. We're looking forward to the normal sunset clearing and the move to high camp tomorrow. RMI Guides Seth Waterfall
