Mt. Rainier: June 6th Update

The Mount Rainier Summit Climb teams, led by Brent Okita and JJ Justman, both reached the summit this morning! The teams reported a beautiful day in the Pacific Northwest. After both teams spent some time on the summit, they began their descent at 7:20 a.m. Congratulations summit teams!

Mt. Rainier: Muir Seminar Reaches Summit

The Expedition Skills Seminar – Muir led by RMI Guides Seth Waterfall and Mike King reached the crater rim of Mt. Rainier around 7 am PDT. Seth reported crystal clear skies and light wind. From the summit the teams can see down to 6,000’ where the cloud deck begins. The teams will spend a little time on the summit before beginning their descent back to Camp Muir for their final night on the mountain. We look forward to seeing them in Ashford tomorrow afternoon. Congratulations climbers!

Mt. Rainier: June 1st Summit!

The Four Day Summit Climb Teams led by RMI Guides Casey Grom and Ben Liken reached the top of Mt. Rainier today. Casey reported a touch and go summit as the team had climbed into a cloud cap and a bit of poor weather with some new snow and a bit of wind. The Team is en route to Camp Muir and we expect them to be celebrating back at Rainier Basecamp later this afternoon! Congratulations Team!

Mt. Rainier: Four & Five Day Summit Climbs Reach the Summit!

The Four Day Summit Climb Team led by RMI Guide Elias de Andres Martos & the Five Day Summit Climb Team led by Walter Hailes reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. The teams climbed well with good conditions. As of 10:30 am PT both teams had descended back to Camp Muir. They will continue down to Paradise and then return to Rainier BaseCamp this afternoon. Congratulations to today's Summit Climb Teams!

Mt. Rainier: May 30th Summit!

The Mount Rainier Summit Climb team led by JJ Justman topped out on Columbia Crest at about 7:30 this morning. JJ reported great weather and light winds of about 15 – 20 mph. After spending some time on the summit, the team began their descent about 8:20 a.m. Congratulations summit team!

Mt. Rainier: Expeditions Skills Seminar - Muir on the Summit!

The Expedition Skills Seminar - Muir led by RMI Guides Brent Okita and Garrett Stevens reached Camp Muir on Monday with their team. This week has been beautiful and the team has spent their time on the mountain honing their mountaineering techniques. This morning the team left Camp Muir en route to the summit. They arrived around 6:30 am PT and were able to enjoy the blue skies and sunshine from the top. The team will return to Camp Muir for their final night on the mountain and some additional training. Tomorrow after noon they will return to Rainier BaseCamp. Congratulations to today's climbers!

Mt. Rainier: May 24th Teams Summit

The Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Elías de Andrés Martos and the Five Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Kel Rossiter reached the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. On the summit the team enjoyed clear, blue skies. The teams have left the summit and are making their way back to Camp Muir. We will see them back in Ashford this afternoon. Congratulations to today's teams!

Mt. Rainier: May 23rd Update

The Four Day Summit Climb team led by RMI Guide Brent Okita was unable to reach the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. Low visibility and windy conditions prevented the team from climbing above 13,200 ft. The team will descend back to Camp Muir before continuing on to Ashford this afternoon.

At 8:30 am the Expedition Skills Seminar – Muir led by RMI Guides Casey Grom and Walter Hailes crested the summit crater of Mt. Rainier. The team will spend about an hour on the summit enjoying light winds and mild temperatures before beginning their descent to Camp Muir. The team will spend one more night at Camp Muir before returning to Ashford on Friday. We look forward to hearing of their training and climbing adventures.

Mt. Rainier: May 18th Teams Summit!

RMI Guides Seth Waterfall and Kel Rossiter and the Four Day Summit Climb teams stood on the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning. The teams have been in and out of clouds this morning with a trace of new snow falling and calm winds. After spending some time on the summit, the teams are making their way back to Camp Muir before beginning their descent to Paradise. Congratulations climbers!
