Mt. Rainier: Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons Summits!

We are back in camp with tired legs and full minds after a windy but successful summit bid. We will wrap up our training this afternoon and hike back to trailhead in the morning.

Mt. Rainier: Summit Climb Teams on Top!

Today's Mt. Rainier teams reached the summit at 6:00 a.m.  They reported windy conditions with clear skies.  The teams began their descent back to Camp Muir at 7:08 a.m. where they will pack up the rest of their gear and continue down to Paradise.

Mt. Rainier: Four Day Teams led by Bealer & Hoch Reach Summit

Clear skies and a bit of wind accompanied the Four Day Climb July 15 - 18 teams to the summit of Mt. Rainier this morning.  RMI Guides James Bealer, Joe Hoch and their climbing teams enjoyed a bit of time on top this morning before starting their descent from the crater rim around 7:20 am.  The teams have returned to Camp Muir and will take a short break to repack and refuel before continuing the remaing 4.5 miles and 4.500' descent to Paradise this afternoon.

Mt. Baker: Easton Glacier Team Reaches Summit

RMI Guide Pete Van Deventer and the Four Day Mt. Baker - Easton Glacier July 15 - 18 team reached the summit at 3:15 pm today with 100% of their crew.  They enjoyed their time on the summit and will return to camp for their final night on the mountain.

Mt. Rainier: Expedition Skills Seminar - Paradise Finishes Week with Summit!

The first Expedition Skills Seminar - Paradise of 2021 led by RMI Guide Alan Davis finished up their week of expedition skills training with a summit of Mt. Rainier via the Disappointment Cleaver route! The team has spent the last five days on Mt. Rainier's Paradise Glacier learning and practicing the skills needed to prepare for future mountain adventures. Today is their sixth and final day on the mountain and we are excited to hear about their week when they return to Ashford this afternoon.

Mt. Rainier: July 17th Team Reaches Summit!

The Four Day Summit Climb led by RMI Guide Casey Grom reached the summit of Mt. Rainier around 6:45 a.m. today. The team was able to spend some time on the summit enjoying the views before beginning their descent back to Camp Muir. The team will pack up and refuel before continuing their descent. We look forward to seeing them in Ashford later this afternoon.

Mt. Rainier: ALA Climb For Clean Air on Top!

The American Lung Association's Climb for Clean Air team reached the summit of Mt. Rainer, the team was led by RMI Guides Win Whittaker and JM Gorum. Today they climbed with a light breeze and cool temperatures. 

Climb For Clean Air has been available to people of all levels who are ready to take on the challenge of summiting a mountain since 1987. Funds raised by participants will support the American Lung Association of the Mountain Pacific's mission of saving lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.

Mt. Rainier: Expedition Skills Seminar - Emmons Summit!

RMI Guide Dustin Wittmier radioed in at 8:45 am to report that the team reached the summit of Mt. Rainier. The team started their summit attempt from Camp Schurman and climbed the Emmons Glacier to reach the top. They have one more night on the mountain where they will continue to develop their alpine mountaineering skills in hopes of tackling bigger peaks like Denali and Aconcagua.

Mt. Rainier: July 15th Teams Summit!

The Four Day Climb led by RMI Guides Taylor Bickford reached the top of Mt. Rainier early today. The teams climbed above the clouds and were greeted with clear skies on the summit! 

The team is in route to Camp Muir. Once there they will pack up their gear and descend to Paradise and then back to RMI Basecamp to celebrate.

Mt. Rainier: Expedition Skills Seminar Kautz Team Reaches the Summit

After a week of technical alpine mountaineering training on the upper slopes of Mt. Rainier the Expedition Skills Seminar - Kautz team reached the Summit! The team climbed through the Kautz Ice Chute, a well-known, and classic route on the mountain.  The team spent time on the summit and are now descending on the Disappointment Cleaver route and will pass through Camp Muir on their way down.

Congratulations to the Kautz Team!
